Description

Hawsker Cottage is a house, probably built in the late 18th century. It features fine herringbone-tooled coursed sandstone and has a pantiled roof with stone copings and kneelers. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of two bays. There is an off-centre replaced four-panel door located under a shallow, flat bracketed hood. To the left is an eight-pane early 19th-century sash window, while to the right is a 24-pane fixed window with a central opening section. On the first floor, there is an eight-pane sash window and two twelve-pane sashes that are placed irregularly, with the latter having wood architraves and all featuring projecting stone cills. A Yorkshire sash window is located in the flat-headed dormer. The gable copings are adorned with block peelers.
