Description
New House Farm is a farmhouse dated 1646 and 1830, featuring coursed stone with ashlar dressings and a blue machine tile roof with verge parapets and stone end stacks. The building has a large T-shaped plan with a wing at the rear. It is three storeys high with a three-window front and a central entrance. The facade includes projecting chamfered quoins, a moulded eaves cornice, and glazing bar sash windows, which are reduced in height on the top floor. The entrance has a six-panel door with a moulded surround, an arch-head, and a fanlight above. There is a large low-relief plaque in the center of the top floor with an oval panel inscribed "BUILT GC.1646 REBUILT GC.1830". At the rear, there is a large wing and a single-storey lean-to with a quatrefoil light. To the right of the main building, there are attached gate piers approximately 1.5 meters high, made of chamfered blocks with a moulded surbase and topped with ball finials.
