3/146 Rainowlow Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse: C17 but extensive C20 alterations. Coursed, squared, buff sandstone rubble. Kerridge stone-slate roof, stone ridge and 2 stone chimneys. Rectangular in plan but C20 additions now make it L-shaped. 2-storey, 2-bay south front. Right end bay steps forward slightly. All windows C20 and they break a projecting rubble band at 1st floor. To rear is rubble hood mould. - Interior: Chamfered fire beam and ceiling beams. 1 good 2-panelled door with raised fields and 1, I-panelled and 2-panelled doors with moulding around panels. One room is a dairy with stone slabs.

Included in attached east garden rubble wall are 2 bee-boles with flagged backs and lintels.
