Description

This milestone is located on the parish boundary with Tissington and is made of gritstone. It has a square shape and stands about three feet tall. The inscriptions on the milestone are partly worn away. The north side reads: "FROM/LONDON/-/MILE TISSINGTON/-/MILE." The east side states: "FROM/HOPTON/-/MILES," and the west side says: "FROM/MATLOCK BATH/-/MILE." The south side features Roman numerals VI.
