Description
This is a 19th-century milepost located approximately 80 metres west of the driveway to Moscar Cross Farm. It was made by Brayshaw and Booth of Liversedge and is constructed from cast iron fixed to a gritstone pillar. The milepost features angled sides beneath a round-headed panel. The raised lettering on the upper panel reads: "SHEFFIELD & GLOSSOP / ROAD / MOORWOOD." The left side indicates "MANCHESTER / 30 MILES / GLOSSOP / 16¼ MILES," while the right side states "SHEFFIELD / 8 MILES."
