Description
This is a 19th-century milepost located approximately 140 metres east of Black Rock. It was made by Brayshaw and Booth from Liversedge. The milepost is constructed from cast iron and is fixed to a gritstone pillar. It features angled sides beneath a round-headed panel. The raised lettering on the upper panel reads "SHEFFIELD & GLOSSOP / ROAD / MOORWOOD." The left side indicates "SHEFFIELD / 7 MILES," while the right side shows "MANCHESTER / 31 MILES / GLOSSOP / 17¼ MILES."
