Description
This war memorial, located approximately 15 metres south-southwest of St Katherine's Church, was erected around 1920. It is made of sandstone with a pitted finish and is designed in the form of a Saxon cross. The memorial features a rectangular base consisting of two tall steps, topped by a tapering section that bears an inscription honoring those from the parish who died in the First World War (1914-1918). Above this is a tall cross, which has a circular design filling the angles at the top. The north face of the memorial is adorned with carved interlace and other decorative elements. There is an additional inscription on the rear commemorating those who served in the Second World War (1939-1945). This memorial is included for its group value context.
