Description
The stables at the Peacock Hotel, now used as garages and outbuildings, date from the 17th century and the 20th century. They are constructed from coursed squared sandstone with sandstone dressings and quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and features a south elevation with six bays. On the left side, there are two 20th-century garage openings with quoins, timber lintels, and plank doors. To the right, there is a doorway with plain ashlar jambs and lintel, flanked by two-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows. The first floor contains four similar 20th-century two-light recessed and chamfered mullion windows, along with a smaller 17th-century two-light window and a 17th-century three-light recessed and chamfered mullion window. This building is included for its group value only.
