Description

The war memorial located to the south of St Gregory's Church was built around 1920 and updated around 1947. It is made of stone and features a Saxon cross. The memorial stands on three square stone steps and has a chamfered stone base that includes inscriptions related to the Second World War. The cross shaft is battered and bears an inscription for the First World War, while the upper part of the shaft is adorned with carved relief sculptures of Christ and St George.
