Description

This is a house, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is located on the west side of North End in Bedale. Originally known as Greystones, the house is constructed of brick, now rendered, with a Welsh slate roof. The building is three storeys high and three bays wide. A plinth runs along the base. Four stone steps with plain railings lead to a half-glazed front door situated between the first and second bays. The doorcase has pilasters and simple consoles supporting a frieze and cornice. The ground and first floors feature sash windows with glazing bars. The second floor has six-pane sashes, all with stone cills. Chimneys are located on the ridge and at the ends of the building.
