Description
St Gregory House, dating from the late 17th century, is a house with an attached wall located on the east side of North End in Bedale. The building is constructed of red brick in random bond and features a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high and has five bays. A central entrance is accessed by five stone steps leading to a six-panel half-glazed door, which is topped by a three-pane overlight. The brick surround of the door projects slightly and includes a flat brick arch and a moulded brick triangular pediment. All windows are sashes with glazing bars and flat brick arches, set within raised full height panels. A stepped band runs along the first floor, and there is a dentilled cornice. The house has shaped kneelers and stone coping, along with large external gable stacks. The attached brick wall is stone-coped and features openings with ball finials on either side, positioned to the right and in front of the house.
