GREENHEAD B 6318 NY 66 NE and NY 76 NW (North side, off) 11/72 and 12/72 Hadrian's wall, 24/11/67 milecastles and turrets I

Hadrian's wall; milecastles 43, 44, 45 and 46; turrets 42B, 43A, 43B, 44A, 44B, 45A and 45B. AD 122, reconstructed AD 205. Rubble core with dressed stone faces. Course of wall runs west from Cawfields (NY 712665) to Holmhead (NY 659660). Several stretches of c.1.5-metre high wall masonry. Sites and some remains of milecastles and turrets. Scheduled Ancient Monument.
