Description
Hadrian's Wall milecastle 41 and turret 40B date from AD 122 and were reconstructed in AD 205. They feature a rubble core with dressed stone faces. The course of the wall runs west from near Green Slack to near Caw Gap, with several sections of wall masonry standing at approximately 5 metres high. This site is the only location of the milecastle and turret and is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
