Description
Hadrian's Wall Milecastle and Turrets, located near Haltwhistle, dates back to AD 122 and was reconstructed in AD 205. The structure features a rubble core with dressed stone faces. The course of the wall extends west from near Caw Gap to Cawfields, with several sections of wall masonry standing at approximately 5 meters high. The remains of milecastle 42 can be found on the site, along with the locations of turrets 41A and 41B. This site is designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
