Description
This is a two-storey farmbuilding with flanking ranges located at the rear of Glenwhelt, dating from the early 19th century. The main range includes a byre and loose-boxes with a granary above, while the late 19th-century flanking ranges consist of a byre on the left and stables on the right. The buildings are constructed from squared stone with dressings, and the late 19th-century ranges feature snecked stone. They are topped with slate roofs.
The two-storey, four-bay byre and loose-box range has tooled quoins and a doorway on the left with alternating jambs and a boarded door. To the right, there is a replaced casement window in a similar surround, along with a wide 20th-century casement in the right end bay. Above, there is a boarded loading door and breathers. The roof has coped gables and shaped kneelers.
The single-storey, three-bay byre features a central boarded door with flanking replaced casements in flush surrounds with alternating jambs, and the roof has a coped left gable. The single-storey, two-bay stable has two Dutch doors in similar surrounds, and its roof has a coped right gable.
This building is included for its group value.
