Description

The gravestone of Mary Rutherford, dating from the 1720s, is located approximately 10 yards south-east of the Church of St. Peter in Falstone. It is made of sandstone and features a primitive scrolled pedimented top. The stone is intricately carved in high relief, depicting a rustic angel with wings, crossed bones, a skull, a spade, and a bible. An inscription can be found on the rear of the gravestone.
