Description
Rectory, built around 1818 by H.H. Seward for the Commissioners of Greenwich Hospital. The building is constructed of ashlar and has a roof of graduated Lakeland slate. It comprises a basement and two main storeys plus attics, with three bays and a single-storey lean-to on the right side. A flight of six steps with iron side rails leads to a central stone porch, which has a flush-panelled door. The ground floor features tripartite sash windows set within broad, chamfered surrounds. The first floor has shorter nine-pane sashes in similar surrounds. A concave cornice runs along the building. The gabled roof has raised and ridged coping, and corniced end stacks.
Inside, the staircase has a ramped handrail and stick balusters. The interior also includes six-panel doors and shutters.
