Description

This building is a barn or byre located approximately 45 metres to the south-west of Dundale Beck Farmhouse. It dates from the 18th century, likely from the mid-1700s, as the farmhouse is dated "CT 1748". The structure is made of coursed squared stone with herringbone tooling and has a pantile roof featuring stone kneelers, copings, and a ridge. It is a single storey with a loft and consists of three bays. The front has a central stable door and slit vents, some of which are blocked, along with an eaves band and hollowed kneelers. At the rear, there is an opposing stable door. On the left side, there is a board door leading to the loft opening in the gable. Inside, stone piers support braced king-post trusses, with the king-posts extending above the trusses to support the ridge piece and two tiers of through purlins; the loft floors have been removed. There is a 20th-century water tank and additional farm buildings attached at the rear, which are not considered of special interest.
