Description

KILDALE NZ 60 NE 5/125 Farmbuilding approx.45 metres to south-west of Dundale Beck Farmhouse II

Barn/byre. C18, probably mid (farmhouse dated "CT 1748"). Coursed squared herringbone-tooled stone; pantile roof with stone kneelers, copings and ridge. One storey with loft; 3 bays. Central stable door; slit vents, some blocked; eaves band. Hollowed kneelers. Rear: opposing stable door. Left return: board door to loft opening in gable. Interior: stone piers support braced king-post trusses, the king-posts rising above trusses to support ridge-piece, 2 tiers of through purlins; loft floors removed. Attached C20 water tank and farm buildings at rear are not of special interest.
