Description
Low House is an 18th-century house that has undergone some alterations. It is built from coursed squared tooled sandstone and features pantiled roofs with stone copings, kneelers, and stacks. The building has an L-plan layout, with a long right wing that runs alongside the road and some later infill at the rear.
The main south front is two storeys high and has two windows. A former doorway on the right has been replaced by a modern casement window, while the other windows are Yorkshire sashes. The gable copings are supported by square kneelers, and there are corniced end stacks, although the right stack has lost its cornice.
At the lower right rear, there is a wing that may have once served as a stable. This wing features renewed windows and a lintel inscribed with "W. & E.T. 1673, 1816, H.C. 1931," which may have been relocated from another site. There is also a fire window on the left return of this wing.
The entrance to the house is located behind an extruded porch to the left of a one-storey pent extension.
