Description

Dibble Bridge spans the River Esk and dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed tooled sandstone and features two round arches. These arches have cut voussoirs and roll-moulded arch rings, separated by a pointed cutwater that rises with a ramped chamfer to create a buttress at the peak of each sloped parapet. The bridge has shallow gabled copings. At the north-east and south-west corners, the parapet curves back to form refuges, and there are stout square end piers at all four corners.
