Description
Highgarth is an 18th-century house with extensions, located on the south side of High Street in Danby. It is constructed from coursed herringbone-tooled sandstone and features a pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and stacks. The building is 1½ storeys tall and has four bays, with the right bay appearing to be an extension in a similar style.
The front includes a 20th-century half-glazed door set within a 20th-century glazed gabled porch. To the left of the door is a Yorkshire sash window in an old door opening, and to the far left is a three-light casement window with glazing bars, a keyed lintel, and a projecting cill. Above, there are two tiny sash windows under the eaves. The right bay contains modern casements, with the upper window situated under a low raking half-dormer. A small single casement window is located at the far right.
The rear elevation features two similar keyed window openings, two half-dormers, and one modern bay window. The house has block kneelers and a high-pitched roof.
