Description

HUTTON MULGRAVE NZ 81 SW 6/236 Low Farmhouse and attached outbuilding GV II Farmhouse, probably late C18, with coeval outbuilding; the main house possibly rebuilt or re-fronted. Large coursed tooled sandstone; pantiled roofs with stone copings and kneelers, brick stacks. Hearth-passage plan. Plinth. Main house 2 storeys, 2 wide bays. Plinth. Downhouse lower and set back: 1 wide bay and a narrow passage bay; and a small lean-to at left. Outbuilding 1 storey 1 wide bay, set back at right, forming a near-symmetrical composition. Top-glazed 6-panel through-passage door. 2-light small-paned C20 casements on both floors at left and in main house, all with projecting stone cills. Boarded door in lean-to and another in the outbuilding. Block kneelers; chimneys at ends of house and at left end of downhouse. Rear elevation shows boarded through-passage door under keyed lintel. One 24-pane C20 upstairs window and other small windows, one an original sash.
