Description

Low Farmhouse and attached outbuilding is a farmhouse, probably built in the late 18th century, with a contemporary outbuilding. The main house may have been rebuilt or had its front altered. It features large coursed tooled sandstone and has pantiled roofs with stone copings and kneelers, along with brick stacks. The layout follows a hearth-passage plan and includes a plinth. The main house is two storeys high with two wide bays, while the downhouse is lower and set back, consisting of one wide bay and a narrow passage bay, plus a small lean-to on the left. The outbuilding is a single storey with one wide bay, set back on the right, creating a nearly symmetrical appearance. The main entrance is a top-glazed six-panel through-passage door. Both floors of the main house have two-light small-paned 20th-century casements on the left, all with projecting stone cills. There is a boarded door in the lean-to and another in the outbuilding. Block kneelers are present, with chimneys located at the ends of the house and at the left end of the downhouse. The rear elevation features a boarded through-passage door under a keyed lintel, along with one 24-pane 20th-century window upstairs and other small windows, one of which is an original sash.
