Description

HUTTON MULGRAVE KITTER LANE NZ 80 NW (north side) 8/240 Moorgate Farmhouse and attached outbuildings

GV II Farmhouse, barn and stable. Late C18 or early C19, certainly pre-1810. House finely-coursed sandstone of near-ashlar quality; outbuildings rougher and more uneven stone. Pantiled roofs with stone ridges, copings and kneelers, rebuilt brick chimneys. Hearth-passage plan with lower downhouse. Linear plan overall. Main house 2 storeys, 2 wide bays; downhouse 2 storeys, 1 wide bay and a narrow passage bay. C20 door in passage entrance. Windows all 3-light small-paned C20 casements except for one 2-light casement over the door. Block kneelers; end chimneys on house and at left of downhouse. 2-storey barn at right blank; 1-storey extension has stable door. 1-storey stable at left has Yorkshire sash and stable door.
