Description
The pigsty located to the east of Allerton Head Farmhouse is a Grade II listed structure dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed, peaked large sandstone and features a pantile roof with a stone ridge, copings, kneelers, and a chimney stack. The building is single-storey and consists of two bays, with the left bay being wider. There is a boarded door positioned to the right of the center, along with four feeding chutes on the left side, each with a boarded sliding opening above. Additionally, there is a boarded opening under the eaves on the right side. The right end of the building has block kneelers and a chimney that is stepped and cornice-banded.
