Description
This is a milepost from the late 19th century located to the north-east of Scaling Reservoir. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular shape with a forward-sloping top. The left face of the milepost displays the distance to Whitby, marked as "WHITBY 11," while the right face shows the distance to Guisborough, marked as "GUISBORO 11." There are pointing hands above each distance, and on the top, it is marked "NRYCC." The milepost is painted white, with the lettering and design highlighted in black.
