CV II Hotel, 2 builds, early and later C19. Coursed herringbone tooled sandstone, part rendered. Pantiled roof with stone ridge, copings and kneelers; one stone stacks, the others brick or rendered. T-plan earlier building with central leaf projecting; right bay concealed by addition. 2 storeys and tall basement. Wide flight of steps to entrance in left return of projecting gabled bay with black rendered basement. Shop in left return basement and storeroom beneath stair; 12-pane sash above. 4-pane sashes in gable end, and stone chimney on peak. 16-pane sashes in left bay, and brick end chimney. Right extension 3 storeys, 2 windows, rendered. Left door of 3+3 vertical panels, 2-3, 3- and 2-light public house windows to right. 2 first-floor canted oriels with altered glazing. On second floor 4-pane sashes. File bands at first floor and at second floor cill levels. Hipped roof with right end rendered corniced chimney. Included for group value.
