Description
Beckside Farmhouse and the attached outbuilding are early 19th-century structures located on Barnard's Road in Egton. The farmhouse is built from whitewashed rubble sandstone and features herringbone-tooled quoins, with a slate roof, while the outbuilding has a pantile roof. The farmhouse is two stories high with a three-window front, and the outbuilding is a single story with one window on the right. The main entrance to the farmhouse has a four-panel door with an overlight, flanked by 16-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane window in the center between two 16-pane sashes. All windows have painted stone sills and painted wedge lintels. The gables are coped with shaped kneelers, and there are corniced stacks at both ends. The outbuilding features a two-light, large-pane horizontal sliding sash window, a coped right gable, and an end stack. The rear of the farmhouse has 16-pane sashes and a single-storey outshut with a pent roof, along with a board door leading to the outbuilding.
