Description

Beck Farmhouse and the attached barn are likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some alterations. The farmhouse is constructed of white-painted rubble, with the sides and rear unpainted, and features a slate roof. It has an L-shaped plan, consisting of a two-unit single-depth house on a north-south axis facing west, with a lean-to outshut added to the rear and a barn projecting as a north-west wing.

The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and has four windows, although the fourth window is blocked. On the ground floor, there is a square-headed doorway offset to the left, protected by a gabled 20th-century wooden and glazed porch. To the left of the doorway is a square window, and to the right, there is an oblong two-light window and a narrow rectangular one-light window, all with altered glazing. The first floor features three square windows with altered glazing and a small blocked one-light window with a chamfered reveal to the right. A noticeable change in the masonry above the first-floor windows suggests that the eaves may have been raised. The gable chimneys include a short, square, corbelled chimney on the right, which has two prominent stone-slate courses around it. The right-hand side also has one-light windows on each floor below the chimney, indicating that the house was originally built with a firehood, suggesting its late 17th or early 18th-century origins. The left gable is covered by the barn, while the right gable wall has small attic windows flanking the chimney.

The barn is built of slobbered random rubble and has a doorway offset to the right, with two windows to the left and one to the right, all featuring rubble voussoirs. The interior has not been inspected.
