Description
Mill House is a house that likely dates from the early to mid 19th century, possibly incorporating some earlier materials at the rear. It is constructed from roughly-coursed mixed rubble with sandstone quoins and features a graduated slate roof. The building has a T-plan layout, consisting of a single-depth front range with a service wing at the rear.
The house is two storeys high and has three symmetrical windows. The central doorway has a plain surround and features a recessed, re-used studded board door. There are two 16-pane hornless sash windows on the ground floor and three above, all of which have monolith lintels. The roof has oversailing bracketed gable verges and gable chimneys. The rear wing is two low storeys and includes a lean-to porch at the north angle, along with a gable chimney.
Inside, the structure has been altered but contains a 19th-century staircase. Mill House forms a group with Mill Cottage to the left and Millers Cottage to the right.
