Description

Milestone located at SD 624 947, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and has a semicircular shape on a square base with broaches at the angles. The inscription reads: "BB : KL/4¾" : 11¾". This milestone is situated on the turnpike road from Sedbergh to Grayrigg, established in 1762, where "BB" stands for Borrow Bridge and "KL" represents Kirkby Lonsdale.
