Description

This milestone, dating from 1762, is located on the Sedbergh to Grayrigg turnpike road. It is made of painted stone and has a semicircular shape on a square base, with broaches at the angles. The inscription reads: "BB : KL/3¾ : 12¾," where "BB" stands for Borrow Bridge and "KL" for Kirkby Lonsdale.
