Description
Needs Ore Cottages is a row of seven coastguard cottages, now functioning as residential cottages, built in 1853 as noted on a tablet. The cottages are constructed of yellow brick with red brick pilasters and feature a slate roof. They are two stories high and consist of two bays, with small later additions at the rear. The end cottages are taller and have gabled roofs, each featuring a ground floor rendered canted bay with dentilled eaves and a 12-pane sash window at the front. On the first floor, there are 12-pane sash windows, while the other cottages display larger 15-pane sashes on the ground floor and smaller 16-pane sashes on the first floor. Each side of the central cottage has a pilaster, and there are ridge stacks positioned between pairs of cottages.
