Description
The remains of St Leonard's Chapel are a 14th-century ruin located in Beaulieu. The structure is built of rubble stone with stone dressings, and most of the walls still stand to their full height, except for part of the north wall and the east gable. The east window has lost its arched head and tracery, but there are still remnants of niches on either side of the pinnacled side shafts that supported a canopy with a trefoiled head. The side walls show evidence of 2-light windows. Inside, there are remains of a piscina and lockers. The west gable features remnants of a pointed door and a window that was likely 3-lights. Internally, there are also brackets that once supported a gallery. This site is recognized as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
