Description

Park Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 16th century, located on the site of a former monastic grange and chapel. It underwent alterations in the 18th century and was extended in the early 19th century. The older section is constructed from rubble stone with brick dressings and features an old plain tile roof with brick stacks, while the later addition has a brick and slate roof.

The building has a two-storey, U-shaped plan, with the early 19th-century parallel range added to the front of the middle wing. Each of the original wings consists of three bays, while the later wing has two wide bays. The entrance front, which is now part of one of the side wings, includes an end of the 19th-century range to the right-hand side. In front of this is a gabled rendered porch, with a six-pane door located to the right bay of the earlier wing. Next to this is a 12-pane segmental head sash window, with a 12-pane sash window above it. The left-hand bay features large two-light casement windows on each floor, and all windows are set within brick framed openings. There is a stack bay located between the left-hand bay and the others. The right end of the 19th-century wing has 12-pane sash windows, and the roof is hipped at the front of the wing, while the other roof is half-hipped at the left-hand end. A large stack with four joined flues and a moulded hood is situated over the stack bay.
