Description
St Leonards Grange is a house dating to around 1700, built on the site of a former monastic grange. It incorporates remnants of a medieval grange and its 16th-century successor, with remodelling occurring in the 19th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone with brick dressings and brick additions, and has old plain tile roofs. The main block is two storeys and an attic, with six bays of varying sizes. At each end, the bays are set back, and there are two-storey additions of differing lengths. A gabled porch with a round-headed opening containing a six-panel top-lit door is located to the left-hand side of the centre bay. Other bays contain two-light casements set within brick-framed openings. Similar casements are found on the first floor, including one above the door. Two hip-roofed dormers with two lights are visible on the roof, one centrally and one over the end bays. The additions also have two-light casements. The roof of the main block is half-hipped to the left. The building has end stacks and a ridge stack in the centre.
