Description
Nos. 89 and 90 are a pair of cottages that have been combined into one, with an additional cottage added, now serving as museum exhibits. They date from the late 18th century to early 19th century and have undergone alterations in the 19th century and late 20th century during their restoration as a museum. The building is two storeys high and originally consisted of two single-bay cottages, now merged, along with a single-bay infill cottage situated between them and No. 87, which features a rear wing and an outshot. The front of the building has the pair of cottages to the right. Each original cottage had a plank door on the left side and a 2-light casement window on the right, with a matching 2-light casement above. However, the right-hand door is now bricked up. The left cottage has a small plank door on the right side, where the right jamb was part of the original pair, and a straight joint extends upwards. There are 2-light casement windows on both floors of the left cottage. A tall chimney stack is located near the right end of the building.
