Description

Nos. 78 and 79 are a pair of cottages, now combined into one, dating from the late 18th century. They were altered in the 19th century and again in the late 20th century when a museum exhibit was created next door. The cottages are built of brick and have an old plain tile roof. They are two stories tall with an attic, each cottage featuring one wide bay and an outshot to the rear. The front has plank doors located near each end, with 2-light casements under segmental arches beside them, and additional 2-light casements on the first floor. There are also 2-light hip-roofed dormers, and a central ridge stack that abuts taller roofs on both ends. The right-hand door of No. 79 now serves as an exit for the museum.
