Description

A row of four coastguard cottages dating from the early 19th century is situated in Wembury. The cottages are constructed of stone rubble with a low-pitched, slurried slate hipped roof. They present a long seven-window front, with the left-hand bay set back. The windows are horizontally sliding sashes with glazing bars. One doorway is retained, featuring a hood supported by brackets and a glazed door; another doorway has been replaced with a window. A wooden porch is positioned within the angle of the set-back bay. Three rendered chimney stacks rise from the ridge.
