Description

Blue Shutters is a cottage dating to the late 17th century, situated within a row of cottages. It is constructed of roughcast stone rubble, with an asbestos slate roof and a gabled end. The cottage has two storeys and a three-window front. On the ground floor are two mullioned windows with ovolo-moulded wooden frames: one with two lights, and another with three. There is also a circa 19th-century two-light window on the ground floor. The first floor has three circa 18th-century three-light casement windows, two of which have 20th-century shutters. A central flush-panel and glazed door is sheltered by an early 20th-century gabled wooden porch. A large stone rubble chimney stack with slate weathering is situated at the gable end.
