9/3 Rhinefield Hunting Lodge 28.7.86 GV II

Stableblock, now house. Circa 1890, maybe early 1900s by WH Romaine-Walker. Brick, stone dressings, 1st floor tilehung, ½-timbered gable, plain tile roof. U-shaped plan around courtyard with open side facing walled garden (qv) 1½ storey entrance side which turns corner and then becomes single storey ranges. Entrance front of 3 bays has to LH projecting porch of 4-centred arch, diagonal buttresses and battlements. To RH wide bay tilehung on 1st floor with two 2-light gabled dormers. RH bay has jettied tilehung 1st floor at higher level and 5-light oriel with head under gable. Moulded brick stacks at LH end in centre and on ridge behind RH bay. To LH end single storey hip-roofed 2 bay part completes the range.
