Description
The Lodge Hincheslea is a mid-19th century lodge located on Burley Road in Brockenhurst. It is built of red brick featuring blue brick patterns and has a Welsh slate roof. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys tall. The entrance is on the south front and consists of two bays, with a door set at an angle beneath a pent roof. The windows are Tudor arched, with stone keys and cast iron lozenge glazing. The arch of the window to the left of the door has been rebuilt. There is a dentil band at the first-floor cill level, and a window in the gable to the right, but none in the wall to the left. The gables are adorned with scalloped barge-boards and finials. A brick stack is located at the junction of the roofs, and some windows face the road. Additionally, there is a single-storey lean-to on the east side. The lodge cottage remains largely unaltered on the exterior.
