Description
This small cottage, dating from the early 19th century, is located 15 meters southwest of New Forest Close. It is constructed of brick, painted and cob, with a thatched roof. The building is 1½ storeys high and consists of one brick bay on the right-hand side, with an added cob bay at the other end, and a low store bay. The front features a plank door and a two-light casement window in the brick bay, both set under a cambered head, along with a two-light casement window in an eyebrow dormer above. There is a single light window in the right-hand bay and another two-light casement in the store. The roof is half-hipped, with a brick chimney stack on the right side of the brick bay, while the roof of the store is nipped. This cottage is a rare example of an unaltered squatters cottage.
