Description

The property is a Queen Anne house, dating from the mid-18th century with 19th-century additions. It is constructed of brick, with a decorative blue brick front. In the early 19th century, two bays were added to the left-hand side, and the roof was altered. A 20th-century garage was added to the left-hand end.

The front of the original part features a central four-panel door beneath a rubbed brick arch with a keystone. Flanking the door are large four-pane windows, also under rubbed brick arches with recessed aprons. At each end of the original section is a half-bay of a blind opening with a blue brick panel and a recessed apron. Above the ground-floor windows are X-shaped tieplates. A raised first-floor band runs around the building. On the first floor, the centre has a blind opening with a blue brick panel and apron, incorporating a blue brick diamond panel. Either side of this are two-light cast-iron casements with aprons below. At each end of the first floor are half-bays matching the ground floor. The building is finished with a stepped brick cornice. The left-hand additions include a window similar to the original ground-floor windows, and to the right-hand side on the first floor, a similar window. A two-flued stack is located in front of the ridge between the original and later parts of the building.
