Description
Higher End Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with brick infill and rebuilding, topped with a slate roof. The building is two storeys tall and has three bays, along with a one-and-a-half storey, two bay dairy wing at one end. The garden front has an 18th-century encasing, while the first floor was rebuilt in the 19th century. There is a timber gabled central porch and windows with segmental heads. On the farmyard side, there is a projecting wing for the dairy on the left-hand side and lean-tos at the end bays. The windows include three-light casements, and the first floor has an exposed frame with two-light casements. The farmhouse has end stacks.
