Description

FAWLEY STANSWOOD ROAD SU 40 SE 13/15 Nos 1 and 2 Nelson Lodge - - II

Lodge, now 2 dwellings. 1864 for A R Drummond. Yellow brick, slate roof, 1½ storey, L-shaped building of 3 bay main wing and 2 bay smaller wing. Road front has slightly projecting left hand gabled bay. In front of -it is gabled porch with segmental head opening. Over this is tabled inscribed 'ARD 1864'. Centre bay has 3-light transomed, segmental head window with diamond panes and red brick hood mould. Right hand bay has pilasters either side of similar window. On roof over these bays 2-light transomed window, with diamond panes, in gabled dormer. Ridge stacks to each side of centre bay, consisting of several square-section shafts. Combed ridge tiles.
