Description
This is a 18th-century farmhouse and barn located in Blindbothel Mossar. The barn doorway is inscribed with the initials “P.B.” and the date 1785. The farmhouse has roughcast walls and the barn has roughcast walls and chimney stacks, both with graduated greenslate roofs. The farmhouse is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays, with an additional bay to the right, possibly used as stables, all under a common roof. A further, higher, L-shaped barn adjoins the left side. The farmhouse's front door is a panelled door with an overlight, set within a painted stone surround. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, also within painted stone surrounds. A further entrance door is positioned at a higher level to the right, with small casement windows above. The barn features plank doors, casement windows, and a segmental cart entrance. A rear bank entrance to the barn incorporates a 20th-century sliding plank door.
