Description
Toddell Cottage and former barn is a house and barn dating from the early 18th century, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. The building features painted roughcast walls and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof that has a cement rendered chimney stack. It is a long, low structure with two storeys and five bays, with the barn located to the right under a common roof. The cottage has top-glazed double plank doors that were added in the 20th century. The windows include Yorkshire sash and casement styles with glazing bars, set in 19th century painted stone surrounds. The barn also has similar 20th century plank doors, an additional plank door to the right, and a small casement window beneath a slit vent. The building is listed for its group value with Toddell Farmhouse located opposite.
