Description
The Church of St Michael is a parish church built in 1773 on a medieval site, with a restoration in 1925. It features incised render over slate rubble walls and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof that has coped gables. The church has a low three-bay nave and chancel, a west porch, and an open gabled bellcote. The 20th-century casement windows have a round-headed centre panel and radial heads, with stone surrounds that include hinge brackets for shutters. The porch is simply rendered and slated. Inside, there is a dado of 18th-century panelling, and the king-post roof trusses are likely from the 16th century, originating from the earlier church. The font bowl is from the 12th century and sits on a 19th-century pedestal.
