Description

Berkeley Cottage, formerly a Town Head Farmhouse and subsequently divided into two houses before being united as a single private residence, dates to the early 18th century. The building has cement-rendered walls topped by a graduated greenslate roof, with cement-rendered chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and comprises two bays, with a former single-bay house attached to the right, all under a shared roofline. A four-panel door is set within a stone surround, and a similar doorway on the right has been blocked to create a window. Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars are set in stone surrounds; two ground-floor casement windows also have glazing bars. The property has group value with Berkeley House located adjoining to the left.
