Description
Berkeley House and the barn to the rear are a house and former barn dating from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century extension at the back. The building features painted rendered walls and a graduated greenslate roof with shaped bargeboards on the left side, along with a rendered chimney stack. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays with a double span, while the barn at the rear creates an overall L-shape. The house has a plank door set in a painted stone surround and sash windows with glazing bars, also in painted stone surrounds. The left end wall has 19th-century sash windows with painted chamfered surrounds. The barn has whitewashed rubble walls beneath a graduated greenslate roof, facing onto a former farmyard behind Berkeley Cottage. It includes a plank door, a 20th-century door, and a blocked doorway, along with sash windows featuring glazing bars. There is an enlarged garage doorway to the right and another doorway with a loft door above. The property has group value with the adjoining Berkeley Cottage on the right.
